January, 2009

January is always a difficult month for all administrations.

Most computers are updated during the first 10 days of the new year leaving a gap which causes problems for retirees with immediate needs. Further the mentioned update needs a fine-tuning of both computers and this causes additional difficulties.

That is why we had registration problems with MEDCO and CIGNA. Our Human Resources Department was immediately solving the most urgent problems and keeping most of the concerned persons informed.No difficulties were reported from METLIFE , AARP, Delta Dental and/or others.

- January is also the month we collect our membership fee. $ 30.00 for this year 2009.
Also the Travel Insurance is due. All applications have been sent out and we ask you to please observe the due dates.

- Whenever you need a ticket, please use/print the Private Travel Ticket Request which is accessible by clicking on the upper right corner (where indicated) of this page.

- FRAPL/G advises that they are working on a future access to eBase@home and eBase@mobile. As soon as all needed agreements are finalized and the website accessible, we will notify all members accordingly.

- 01/13/2009 - Morningstar awards its highest Five Star Rating to AARP Conservative Fund (AACNX), AART Moderate Fund (AAMBX) and AARP Aggressive Fund (AAGSX).

- Please request a FREE copy of " 50 ways to love your money" from AARP issued by the CHASE Financial.

Please be informed that we have been advised by our Credit Union that the checks made out to ALRONA are no longer being accepted by the banking institutions.

Please issue the checks for the ALRONA membership 2009 and for the TRAVEL INSURANCE to : Lufthansa Federal Credit Union and in Memo, please enter ALRONA.

Sorry for the inconvenience but as of today, the banks have refused the deposits. We had no pre-advise as to these new rules.
